Full job description

Job Title: Packer Job Description

As a Packer, you will plan, prepare, and pack products using standard boxes, crates, or skids for shipments. You will construct both standard and nonstandard boxes and select materials for packing to protect products by bracing or blocking them to prevent shifting or damage during transit. Additionally, you will check packing lists to ensure the inclusion of required components and parts and visually inspect products in detail while minimizing scrap. Occasionally, you may also assist the Thermoforming Operator with job setup.

  • Construct standard and nonstandard boxes for various products.

  • Select appropriate materials to protect products during transit.

  • Ensure all components and parts are included as per the packing list.

  • Visually inspect products to maintain quality and minimize scrap.

  • Assist in the setup of thermoforming operations when required.

Work Environment

You will work in a clean environment with 18 thermoforming lines, split between the North and South sides of the facility. One side is specifically dedicated to medical customers. The work environment requires being on your feet for the majority of the day, and you may need to work shifts from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM or 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM, with incremental or Saturday shifts as needed. The role demands wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and being prepared for physically demanding tasks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Huntley, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $17.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
