Facilities Maintenance Technician

Classification: Full-Time

Paid Weekly

COMPETITIVE WAGE – BASED ON EXPERIENCE

Position Summary

WE ARE SEEKING A FACILITIES MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN TO SUPPORT THE SAFE, RELIABLE OPERATION OF OUR FACILITY, MACHINERY, AND PRODUCTION EQUIPMENT. THIS POSITION PERFORMS PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE, TROUBLESHOOTING, REPAIRS, INSTALLATION, AND OVERHAULS OF MECHANICAL, PNEUMATIC, HYDRAULIC, AND BASIC ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS.

Responsibilities

  • Determine work procedures to assemble, dismantle, and overhaul machinery and equipment.

  • Work with a wide variety of precision tools and utilize a full array of hand and power tools.

  • Perform maintenance-related tasks connected with the maintenance, repair, and improvement of equipment.

  • Troubleshoot, perform preventive maintenance, and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

  • Rebuild pumps, replace bearings, operate cutting torches, weld plate and pipe, and safely troubleshoot and repair hydraulic components.

  • Maintain and repair conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, compressors, bearings, seals, chains, sprockets, couplings, cylinders, valves, and related components.

  • Operate hoists, overhead cranes, forklifts, backhoes, skid-steers, and other equipment required for assigned work, when trained and authorized.

  • Perform minor carpentry and pipe work as needed.

  • Perform welding, fabrication, and torch-cutting tasks safely and efficiently.

  • Evaluate equipment and forms for safe operation and make recommendations for repairs.

  • Perform basic electrical equipment troubleshooting and repair within the employee’s training and authorization.

  • Respond to machine breakdowns or malfunctions and complete repairs as necessary.

  • Replace motors, chains, sprockets, belts, pulleys, cylinders, and other components as required.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, drawings, equipment manuals, and work orders.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

  • Remain receptive to training and perform other duties as required.

  • Follow all safety rules and procedures and use required safety equipment and PPE.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Minimum of two years of heavy industry experience.

  • Experience maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and aligning pumps, bearings, gearboxes, and drive systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.

  • Experience working with preventive, predictive, and reliability-based maintenance programs.

  • Minimum of two years of welding and fabrication experience.

  • Working knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems.

  • Ability to use precision tools, hand tools, power tools, and maintenance diagnostic equipment safely.

  • Ability to diagnose problems, determine appropriate repairs, and work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, organization, and accurate documentation.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50–60 lbs.

  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity to safely use tools, welding equipment, and precision instruments.

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, reach, and work in confined or elevated areas throughout the shift.

  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures, noise levels, dust, and weather conditions.

  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, or respond to urgent maintenance needs as business operations require.

  • Required to wear assigned PPE, including hard hat, steel-toed boots, gloves, hearing protection, safety glasses, face shield, and welding protection as applicable.
