Full job description

Full Time

Mount Kisco, NY, US

Salary Range: $66,000.00 To $70,000.00 Annually

If you're an HR professional who wants to learn every facet of Human Resources instead of being siloed into one specialty, this is the opportunity you've been looking for.

At Richmond Community Services, our HR Generalists are true business partners. You'll gain hands-on experience across every Human Resources Center of Excellence—from recruiting and onboarding to employee relations, benefits, investigations, labor relations, engagement initiatives, and organizational development. Every day is different, and every day offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on our employees and the individuals we serve.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a degree in Human Resources and a few years of experience who is eager to accelerate their career by learning from an experienced HR leadership team.

What You'll Do

As an HR Generalist, you'll be involved in nearly every aspect of Human Resources, including:

  • Full-cycle recruiting and onboarding

  • Employee relations coaching and problem-solving

  • Conducting workplace investigations

  • Performance management and employee development

  • Interpreting and administering HR policies

  • Supporting labor relations and collective bargaining agreement (CBA) administration

  • HR compliance and employment law

  • Employee engagement activities, recognition programs, and celebrations

  • HR reporting, analytics, and special projects

  • Partnering with managers to solve complex people issues

What Makes This Role Different?

This isn't a position where you'll spend years doing only recruiting or only benefits.

You'll develop expertise across multiple HR disciplines while working alongside seasoned HR professionals who are committed to mentoring and developing future HR leaders. If your goal is to become an HR Manager, HR Business Partner, or HR Director, this role will give you the experience to get there.

We're Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has a bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field

  • Has approximately 3+ years of progressive HR experience

  • Is curious, proactive, and eager to learn

  • Communicates professionally and builds strong relationships

  • Handles confidential information with integrity

  • Can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Enjoys solving problems and helping employees succeed

  • Has strong organizational and follow-through skills

Experience working in a unionized environment and interpreting a Collective Bargaining Agreement is a significant plus.

SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or a desire to obtain certification is also a plus.

Why Richmond Community Services?
