Prairie View A&M University invites applications for a non-tenure track faculty positions at the rank of Lecturer I. This position will teach Architecture courses, mentor students and will also do research and services.

The salary is determined in accordance with the University’s compensation structure and will be commensurate with the candidates’ education and experience, within the assigned salary range for this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach courses in Architecture and mentor students.

  • Research and Service

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited program.

  • Three years of teaching experience at the collegiate level in the undergraduate level of instruction. Experience should include teaching architecture design studios, CAD, Multi-media, visual graphic communication, and other courses as required.

  • Five (5) years of professional experience working in architectural and/or firms.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be able to coordinate their studios with technical based courses and assist their students in preparing for careers in architecture.

  • Excellent communication and graphic skills.

  • Proficient in architectural and graphic software.

  • Must be familiar with NAAB accreditation and assessment.

  • Should be able to demonstrate participation in project programming and design, along with technical documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A terminal degree or a Ph.D. in the field of Architecture.

  • Ten (10) years of architectural practice that includes a broad portfolio of work that demonstrates the ability to bring real world experiences to the classroom and studio.
