Full job description

The Role As EVP, Finance, you will serve as Rainbow's senior financial leader, responsible for the strategy, integrity, and performance of the company's finance, accounting, and insurance reporting functions.

You will own the financial architecture that enables Rainbow to scale - from financial planning and capital management to accounting operations, insurance reporting, commissions, and people operations. You are a trusted partner to Rainbow’s leadership team.

You will develop scalable reporting with strong controls, and ensure Rainbow maintains an accounting function suitable to support a high-growth insurance platform.

What You'll Own Financial Leadership & Strategy

  • Serve as the company's senior finance executive and strategic advisor to the CEO and leadership team
  • Lead financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and long-range strategic modeling
  • Provide actionable insights on business performance, growth initiatives, profitability, and capital allocation
  • Support Board reporting, investor communications, fundraising efforts, and strategic transactions as needed Accounting & Financial Operations
  • Own the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of all financial reporting
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and oversee preparation of financial statements
  • Ensure strong accounting controls, policies, and procedures across the organization
  • Establish scalable accounting infrastructure to support company growth and increasing complexity
  • Lead company audits and tax reportings Surplus Lines Operations
  • Maintain executive ownership of all E&S surplus lines reporting, tax filings, and regulatory compliance activities
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting through third-party vendors and other regulatory platforms
  • Develop scalable controls and reporting processes as Rainbow expands into new markets and jurisdictions Bordereaux Operations & Commissions
  • Oversee premium & commission accounting, payment operations, and producer compensation programs
  • Work cross-functionally with the product team to manage and deliver monthly bordereaux reporting
  • Establish controls and reporting around premiums, commissions, carrier settlements, and payment flows
  • Drive process improvements across insurance premium reporting and commission operations People, Corporate Operations & Infrastructure
  • Provide executive oversight for payroll, benefits administration, equity grants, and employee-related financial operations
  • Partner with leadership on workforce planning, compensation strategy, and organizational scaling What You Bring
  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience across finance, accounting, and operations, including senior leadership roles in high-growth environments
  • Strong foundation in insurance accounting, premium reporting, and internal controls
  • Experience scaling finance organizations through periods of rapid growth and organizational complexity
  • Strong understanding of insurance or MGA operations
  • Expertise in financial forecasting, treasury management, and strategic decision support
  • Experience leading audits, tax matters, and regulatory reporting
  • Highly analytical mindset comfortable working with in-house data and systems Preferred
  • Experience with E&S surplus lines reporting and tax compliance
  • Ability to write SQL is strongly preferred, or strong aptitude to learn
  • CPA, CFA, or equivalent accounting or finance credentials Compensation
  • Base salary: $175,000 - $225,000, depending on experience.
