With over 78 years of serving our nation's Veterans, the Veterans Canteen Service (VCS) is currently seeking a dynamic Vending Supply Clerk for our Orlando, FL VA Medical Center Canteen. Join our fast-paced environment if you have a passion for our Veterans and their families, along with prior multi-unit experience. Requirements: Excellent customer service skills. Ability to read and interpret instructions and perform basic math. Minimum of one (1) year experience working with vending machines. Requires constant standing, walking, and frequent bending. Must be able to lift or move objects weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted. A current, valid REAL ID is required to work at Veterans Canteen Service. Duties include but are not limited to: Conducting daily inspections of assigned vending machines to ensure they are operable, adequately stocked and clean. Restocking all machines as required with fresh, quality products and removing and properly discarding all expired product. Replenishing supply items such as cutlery, napkins and condiments as needed. Ensuring machines are functioning properly. Ensuring that are maintained/cleaned in accordance with manufacturer instructions and VCS policy. Performing minor maintenance and contacting vendors as required. Ensuring meter readings are recorded, bill and coin changers contain ample change and proper security measures are in place to prevent theft and/or loss. Maintaining adequate levels of stock on hand and a clean and efficient stockroom. Placing and receiving orders, conducting inventories and ensuring proper storage to protect against waste and spoilage. Verifying cash withdrawals from each machine and completing the required documents. Securing all cash and ensuring it is received and properly stored by management after collection. Performing additional duties such as assisting in the café, brew or retail store as needed. Conditions of Employment As a Condition of Employment for accepting this position, you will be required to serve a 1-year trial period during which we will evaluate your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest. In determining if your employment advances the public interest, we may consider: - Your performance and conduct - The needs and interests of the agency - Whether your continued employment would advance organizational goals of the agency or the Government - Whether your continued employment would advance the efficiency of the Federal service Upon completion of your trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest.
