Job Description
A permanent Respiratory Therapist role involves assessing, treating, and managing patients with respiratory conditions, working under the direction of physicians. This includes using various methods like oxygen therapy, mechanical ventilation, and medication administration to improve patient outcomes.
Perm Placement: Respiratory Therapy
- Type of Patients on Unit: primarily adults, ED patients, Surgical; rehab; imaging; heart & vascular; ortho; emergency
Qualifications
- Required Certifications: Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License required, BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification - American Heart 'Healthcare Provider
(HCP) - AHA approved required*, ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Certification or EKG & Pharmacology Course required National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required and VA License.
*New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to the completion of orientation
- Years of Experience: 3 years
- Float Requirements: None
- Must Have Skills/Experience: RT on staff will be the backup for intubations – training will be provided onsite, the chosen RT will be the only RT on shift
- Preferred Skillset/Experience: None
