JOB SUMMARY:

The department of Communications at Adelphi University invites applications for an adjunct faculty (part-time) position to teach Communication Theory during theFall 2026 semester. The course meetsMonday, Wednesday, and Friday from 11:00am to 11:50amon Adelphi University's Garden City campus.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will teach one section of Communication Theory, an undergraduate course introducing students to major theories, models, and perspectives in human and mediated communication. Responsibilities include preparing and delivering engaging instruction, assessing student learning, maintaining regular office hours as appropriate, and submitting grades in accordance with university deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A master's degree in Communications or a closely related field is required.

  • College-level teaching experience is required.

  • A Ph.D. in Communications or a closely related field is preferred.

  • Professional experience in the communications or media industries is desirable.

APPLICATION:

SALARY INFORMATION:

In compliance with New York’s Pay Transparency Act, the salary for this position is $1,937 per credit.
