OVERVIEW

Location: JFB Technical Center - 9000 Plymouth Ave, Golden Valley, MN

Job status: Full-Time

Hours: Working hours 5:30pm to 5:30am

Schedule: 7 days on and 7 days off. Shift change is on Thursdays.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Safely, effectively and efficiently operate and monitor the facility's three high pressure steam boilers, to include start-up, normal operation, and shutdown

Conduct all necessary boiler monitoring, water testing and inventory management on an ongoing basis, and notify supervisor of any necessary boiler repairs or tune-ups

Monitor efficiencies, troubleshoot issues, and perform or assist with boiler maintenance, repairs and that of boiler-related steam and condensate systems as well as back up fuel oil system

Monitor building fire alarm and fire suppression systems and preform inspections and testing to insure a constant state of readiness

Clean and maintain all associated equipment, and perform regular safety checks

Coordinate and assist in annual boiler inspections

Monitor and assist in chiller plant operations after hours and weekends when necessary

Operate and monitor the plant's three air compressors

Monitor, operate and maintain the facility's well and domestic water system

Manage time appropriately and be able to prioritize a work order backlog

Utilize the maintenance management system (Nuvolo) to report and complete maintenance work orders

Assist with training new employees as needed

Attend meetings and trainings as required

Perform additional tasks as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must have a valid Minnesota 1st Class B or higher boiler operator's license

Able to understand and interact with fully automated control systems, and operate in manual mode if necessary

Able to do physical labor throughout the shift

Good communication and problem-solving skills

Highly motivated, results driven, and trustworthy

Ability to read and record data from gauges, meters and microprocessor-based data acquisition systems and accurately interpret such data

Ability to act quickly and calmly in emergency situations

Able to work well independently, and know when to seek assistance

Must be able to lift up to 50 - 100lbs occasionally

Must be able to use a hoist and rig pieces of equipment that could weigh up to 300lbs to remove or replace the equipment

Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms

Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, a hard hat, a hair/beard net and gloves when required

Ability to work in hot and noisy environmental conditions

Computer skills including MS Office.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

5-years of high-pressure boiler experience

Experience running and maintaining chillers,

2 years of experience in a manufacturing/production environment

Experience in a manufacturing/production environment preferred

Experience operating chillers, cooling towers and related HVAC equipment.

Familiarity with air compressors and compressed air systems.

Experience in treatment and monitoring of water and wastewater systems.

ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS

International relocation or international remote working arrangements (outside of the US) will not be considered.

SALARY RANGE

The salary range for this position is:

$66,000 - $90,750 Annual
