Mechanical Shop Assistant Las Vegas, NV

CONSTRUCTION, TBM Maintenance & Operations

The Boring Company was founded to solve the problem of soul-destroying traffic by creating an underground network of tunnels. Today, we are creating the technology to increase tunneling speed and decrease costs by a factor of 10 or more with the ultimate goal of making Hyperloop adoption viable and enabling rapid transit across densely populated regions.

As a Mechanical Shop Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting mechanical operations for ongoing Tunneling projects in Las Vegas, NV.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and organize Mechanical and Hydraulic shop, ensuring a safe, clean, and functional environment.
  • Processes requisitions and small parts orders to ensure proper inventory levels in tool rooms and supply cages.
  • Provides insight to management on tools and supplies needed.
  • Oversees day-to-day tracking of all tools and consumables assigned to the Mechanics team onsite.
  • Support mechanics and technicians in equipment / tool maintenance as needed.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Valid US driver's license
  • Knowledge of tools and their uses and applications
  • Knowledge of mechanical hardware and fasteners

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • 1+ years of experience in a mechanics shop
  • Technical/Vocational education
  • Forklift or Heavy Equipment Operation experience

Additional Requirements

  • Position may require extended hours and weekend work
  • Ability to lift and haul 40 lbs unassisted
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, stoop, bend, push and pull
  • Must be able to perform work in a variety of weather conditions
  • This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
