Cleaners Needed - Queensbury School District

We are currently seeking reliable cleaners for substitute and full-time positions.

Positions Available

  • Substitute Cleaners: $19.71/hour (no benefits)

  • Full-Time Cleaners: $17.04 per hour minimum starting pay Plus shift differential, actual salary based on experience

  • Regular hours: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM

Job Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.

Experience in cleaning/service environments is preferred, but not required.

District will train

SUMMARY

Perform routine building cleaning duties in school buildings and related facilities. Cleaners are expected to perform a wide variety of routine and non-routine cleaning tasks as required throughout the year to assure our buildings are clean, safe and comfortable for our students, staff, and the community in general. They also perform a variety of non-cleaning tasks such as opening the school, checking for vandalism, identifying safety and maintenance needs, responding to teachers’ and principals’ requests, setting up for special activities and events, attend to special events and building use activities, accept deliveries, perform stocking and delivery of supplies, support the activities of the food service staff, and tend to the building’s exterior and interior flags. Performs other related duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Physical demands including walking and standing, climbing, bending, kneeling to clean floors by hand, push and pull objects, lift and move objects (including, but not limited to, vacuums, buffers, furniture), repetitive bending and lifting, and repetitive arm movements.

  • Uniforms provided

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES (as per Warren County Civil Service Dept.)

Some knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment; ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions; ability to get along well with others; ability to read and write; thoroughness; cleanliness; good physical condition.
