Full job description

Teach Introduction to English Composition (ENG 100) courses to a diverse student body, including Early College students. Teach classes at various locations and varying schedules. The adjunct instructor will follow the established syllabus, using multiple instructional methods that emphasize student success and retention, assessing learning, utilizing the college’s learning management system for grading and various instructional purposes, and participating in the department’s continuous improvement process. Baccalaureate degree in English, Secondary English, English Education, Language Arts, Literature, and demonstrated competence in the teaching discipline. Master’s degree in English, Language Arts, English Education, or Literature. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations representing a wide range of abilities, ages, nationalities, and cultures. Teaching experience at a two-year college and/or teaching experience in adult education. Experience teaching with instructional technology, knowledge of, and demonstrated ability to implement innovative teaching strategies. The work hours are during the day at the time the courses are offered.
