GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

Manages assigned Transmission Line, DistributionLine, or Substation Construction and ROW Clearing projects, ensuring projectsare delivered on schedule, within budget, and as per plans and contractualdocuments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages, owns, and is responsible for projects through phases of bidding, planning, execution, monitoring & control, and close out.

  • Coordinates with electric utilities, consultant design engineering firms, material suppliers, departmental managers, general foreman, foreman, analysts, and SME’s as required for successful project delivery.

  • Coordinates bidding processes with necessary SME’s in order to prepare bid package submittals, including RFI’s, schedules/work plans, list of exceptions/clarifications, line item pricing, and baselines for life cycle project tracking.

  • Full understanding of how to interpret plans and specifications of work to be performed.

  • Tracks crew and project specific profitability, providing professional and frequent reports to respective stakeholders. Includes items such as projected revenue, earned revenue, detailed costing, net income, etc.

  • Creates and maintains overall project specific schedules.

  • Manages subcontractors through conducting RFP processes, contractual agreement formation, and execution of work. Incorporates effects of subcontractor utilization within overall project financial and schedule tracking.

  • Assists with coordination of storm response within the Utility Services division. Including contractual reviews, rate evaluations, crew and equipment rosters, etc. Mobilize with crews on storm when applicable to assist with oversight and general coordination of crews.

  • Coordinates and manages the records specializing in the accuracy of the day-to-day capture of employee time and associated equipment applicable to specific jobs. Reviews resulting invoice generated from software data to be provided to customers.

  • Manages change order processes when necessary with applicable stakeholders.

  • Communicates to all stakeholders with a professional, customer service mindset.

  • Delivers consistent, succinct, high quality business presentations, reports, and emails for project status updates.

  • Ensures project management activities are performed with process rigor and a high standard of quality. Proactively intervenes, monitors recovery plans and implements corrective/preventative actions as may be required.

  • Performs any other related duties as required for the effective and efficient operation of the Construction or ROW departments.

  • The ability to handle stress and work well with others are essential functions of this position.

  • Due to our obligation to provide continuous, reliable electric service to our customers, the ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance and the ability to work outside your regularly scheduled office hours when necessary is an essential function of the job.

  • Maintain awareness of and compliance with applicable laws and regulations from various regulatory entities, internal policies, procedures, and directives. Ensure ongoing monitoring and timely incorporation of any changes to maintain adherence to compliance standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Project Manager I

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field and 3 years of related industry experience.

OR High School Diploma or GED and 5 years of related industry experience and/or training. Related industry experience is required.

Project Manager II

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field and 5 years of related industry experience.

OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of related industry experience and/or training. Related industry experience is required.

Project Manager III

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field and 7 years of related industry experience.

OR High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of related industry experience and/or training Related industry experience is required.

Senior Project Manager

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field and 9+ years of related industry experience.

OR High School Diploma or GED and 12 years of related industry experience and/or training. Related industry experience is required.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid Commercial Driver’s License.

CPR and First Aid certification is required (or obtain within 6 months)

Engineering Intern Licensure (EI)
