Monday through Friday 6am 2:30pm Mon-Friday .

Pay Range:

$19.80 - $29.70

Major Responsibilities: Ensure food is ordered, received ,stored in compliance with regulatory standards and department policies and procedures. 1)Ability to receive perishable and non-perishable products, check deliveries against invoice, specifications and order sheets to ensure proper quantities and quality are received. Any differences in the order and shipment or rejections are reported to Department Manager.

2)Ability to handle meat, fish and other frozen food products for defrosting in the proper cooler according to required time for each category to thaw.

3)Ability to store products in proper storage areas, rotating and dating stock with each shipment and dispensing products according department receiving and food safety/sanitation procedures.

4)Ability to assist in physical inventory of all items and utilization of leftovers and/or excesses.

5)Promotes patient safety by reporting of issues through established channels and participating as requested in safety initiatives.

Adheres to department safety, sanitation , service/communication standards 1)Practices safety and sanitation techinques that meet department standards.Uses correct body mechanics in the performance of duties.

2)Utilizes chemicals according to department and manufacturer guidelines. Practing a "clean as you go" in day to day task assignments.

3)Demonstrates accuracy and clarity in both verbal and written communications.

4)Demonstrates sound decision-making; takes responsibility for decisions. Ability to be self-directed.

5)Attendance at meetings, inservices and training sessions. Completes CBT, flu shot and other hospital requirements as required.

6)Follows hospital and department dress code standards.

7)Additonal or other duties may be assigned based on daily needs of the department( ie trayline, dishroom ..)

Ensure that equipment and storage facilities are maintained according to regulatory standards and department policies and procedures. 1)Ability to clean storeroom area, including walk-in refrigerators, freezers, shelves, designated equipment and other areas as assigned in accordance with established department procedures, using proper cleaning detergents/solutions as required.

Ensure all food items and janitorial supplies are properly distributed to customers 1)Ability to fill requisitions for supplies and nourishments at regularly scheduled pick-up times for ancillary departments.

Education/Experience Required:

  • H.S. education or equivalent is preferred. - 6 months - 1 year related experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Ability to communicate and be understood. - Ability to interpret customers requests and accurately fill these requests. - Ability to read English. Not Applicable

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Ability to lift and carry 10 - 90 lbs. - Ability to tolerate frequent temperature changes due to walk-in freezers/refrigerators. - Ability to be exposed to water/cleaning supplies for sanitation purposes. - Ability to walk and stand continuously. - Ability to transport items to various areas of the department and hospital. - Ability to adhere to strict deadlines and time constraints. - Ability to work as part of a team. This requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 08/01/2014. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For lifts over 35 pounds, lifting equipment is expected to be used or lift with at least one other associate when available. Unique lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case by case basis.
