Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Pipeline Compression Engineer to join their team. This Engineer will be responsible for serving as the technical lead and owner’s engineering representative for the development, design review, construction, commissioning, and operational integration of natural gas pipeline compression facilities. This role supports major pipeline throughput expansion projects utilizing both turbine-driven centrifugal compression and reciprocating compression systems for pack-and-draft operations at major pipeline hub locations.
The engineer will:

Provide technical oversight of external oil and gas engineering firms

Maintain final authority on key compression system design decisions including:
o Redundancy philosophy
o Operating modes
o Surge control strategies
o Recirculation systems
o Overpressure protection
o Acoustics
o Construction logistics
o Compressor building design
$55-60/HR

Skills and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related)
10+ years in pipeline compression or gas transmission infrastructure

Experience managing EPCs and engineering firms

Direct experience with:
o Solar turbine systems
o GE/Baker Hughes systems
o Caterpillar engines
o Centrifugal + reciprocating compressors
o Pipeline hub operations
o Pack-and-draft systems PE License
Familiarity with:
o API 617, 618, 616
o ASME B31.8
o NFPA requirements
o PHMSA regulations
