Job Description
Insight Global is searching for a Quality Inspector for an industrial manufacturing client.
This individual will serve as temporary coverage for a Quality Assurance Technician who is currently on a leave of absence. The Quality Inspector will support manufacturing operations by performing receiving inspections, operator self-inspection (OSI) activities, and product, part, and process audits. This role is responsible for ensuring raw materials, components, assemblies, and finished products meet all applicable quality standards, specifications, and performance requirements before moving through production or to customers.
On a day-to-day basis, the Quality Inspector will perform receiving inspections of materials from suppliers and customers, review certificates of conformance and material test reports, conduct in-process product and configuration audits, and support black light inspections as required. This person will work closely with manufacturing personnel to support Operator Self Inspection processes and verify completed products meet performance testing requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical inspection background, be comfortable reading engineering drawings and specifications, and be proactive in identifying opportunities to improve quality processes, procedures, and overall operational effectiveness.

Skills and Requirements
High school diploma or GED
3+ years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment
3+ years of experience performing receiving inspections on raw materials and manufactured components
3+ years of experience conducting in-process product audits, configuration audits, and quality inspections
1+ year experience / knowledge of Operator Self Inspection (OSI) processes
1+ year experience reviewing certificates of conformance (COCs) and material test reports
Ability to use mechanical inspection tools including gauges, fixtures, surface plate equipment, standard measuring equipment, and profilometers
Ability to read, understand, and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and product specifications
Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
Ability to apply machine shop mathematics including geometry and trigonometry
Ability to lift, carry, or maneuver up to 40 pounds
No known allergies to oils, solvents, or chemical solutions used in manufacturing environments Experience performing black light inspection audits
Background supporting quality initiatives in machining or precision manufacturing environments
Experience working within ISO, lean manufacturing, or continuous improvement environments
Exposure to total quality management methodologies and process improvement initiatives
Prior experience in valve, instrumentation, industrial products, or metal manufacturing industries
