Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Building Engineer to join our team at the MetLife corporate offices. The ideal candidate will have experience in preventative maintenance work on building systems, including HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and Boilers. While a license is not necessary, expertise in one discipline combined with experience in other departments is highly desirable. The role involves performing basic maintenance tasks, as higher-level work is managed by licensed contractors.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on building systems such as HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and Boilers.

• Change filters and lightbulbs, fix doors, and perform sheetrock and drywall repairs.

• Move furniture as needed.

• Conduct general troubleshooting and maintenance tasks.

• Collaborate with licensed contractors for advanced repair tasks.

Essential Skills

• Experience in electrical, plumbing, and preventative maintenance.

• Strong troubleshooting and maintenance technician skills.

• Experience in building engineering and facilities maintenance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Good communication skills.

• Experience as a stationary engineer is advantageous.

Work Environment

Work in a rotating shift pattern, with 1st and 2nd shifts available from Monday to Friday.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of East Greenwich, RI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $40.00/hr.
