Veterinary Technician, Radiology

CVT/RVT/LVT $27 - $37/hr. | Non-Credentialed $24 - $32/hr. | Red Bank, NJ

With MRI, CT, PET scanning, 12 surgical suites, a dedicated ER, and expanded training spaces, RBVH combines innovative medicine with compassionate care for pets, clients, and team members alike.

We are seeking a Radiology Technician to support our Radiologists and hospital team by facilitating efficient patient care for animals receiving diagnostic imaging. In this role, you will assist with a variety of daily tasks while collaborating closely with all departments across the hospital.

Compensation

  • Credentialed Technicians: $27 - $37/hr. based on experience

  • Non-Credentialed Technicians: $24 - $32/hr. based on experience

Job Description

A Radiology Technician supports veterinarians and specialists in the delivery of advanced diagnostic imaging services. They are responsible for preparing patients, operating imaging equipment, ensuring image quality, assisting with procedures, and maintaining compliance with safety and medical standards. The role requires technical proficiency, patient care skills, and strong collaboration with the veterinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily patient schedules and assist with prioritization in collaboration with Radiologists and Specialty teams.

  • Intake patients for referral imaging and facilitate safe movement between departments and imaging rooms.

  • Position, restrain, and monitor patients during radiographs, ultrasounds, CT scans, and other imaging procedures.

  • Perform venipuncture (catheter placement, blood draws, drug administration) and process lab specimens.

  • Administer and monitor sedation under the direction of Specialists or Anesthesiologists.

  • Upload and manage imaging files in the viewing database; document patient care and charges in medical systems.

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on positioning and image quality, training team members as needed.

  • Support hospital operations by maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Qualifications

  • LVT, CVT, or RVT credential preferred

  • Two or more years of experience working as a Veterinary Technician in a veterinary hospital.

  • Previous experience working in an emergency or specialty veterinary hospital preferred

  • Demonstrated proficiency with computers, electronic medical records, and data entry.

  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced emergency and critical care environment.

  • Fluent English skills (speaking and reading) required.

  • RECOVER CPR certification a plus.
