Preferred (not required): Clinical Dietetics, Patient Counseling, Food Service Management, and Coordinate Dietary Service.

Education & Experience:
-
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in dietetics, nutrition, or a related field
-
Certified Dietetic Technician (DTR) or equivalent
-
Experience in clinical dietetics, patient counseling, and food service management
-
M ust be a Certified Diet Technician
Experience: 1 year
License, Registration and/or Certification Requirement: Yes
Duties and Responsibilities:
May include all or part of the following but not limited to:
-
Coordinate Dietary Service with other departments as necessary.
-
Meet with Dietary Staff as needed to assist with identifying and correcting problem areas and/ or improvement of service.

Assist in planning, developing, organizing and implementing department goals and objectives.
-
Submits reports as required.
-
Conducts in-services as requested.
-
Attend meetings as directed.
-
Represent department at Interdisciplinary Team Conferences.
-
Complete clinical activities which include quarterly reviews, nutritional assessments, calorie counts and calculating significant weight change and meal rounds.

Monitor resident acceptance of nourishments

Updates monthly weights and reports significant weight changes to Dietician and Nursing Department.

Completes Geri menu changes.
-
Works with Food Service director to plan menus for residents according to nutritional requirements, special diets, and food preferences.

Visits new admissions and completes dietary assessment.
-
Completes Nutritional Care Plan and relevant sections of Material Data Set.
-
Analyzes, evaluates and recommends solutions with interdepartmental problems when necessary.
