Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead all maintenance, reliability, and facility operations activities for a workforce housing camp. This role is critical to ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient performance of critical infrastructure systems during construction, commissioning, and operations phases. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in industrial/mechanical/electrical systems, proven leadership in high-paced environments, and a proactive, safety-first mindset.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all day-to-day maintenance activities across the Workforce Housing Camp during active occupancy, including lodging units, common areas, kitchens, laundry facilities, restrooms, mechanical systems, electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, generators, and site infrastructure.

  • Maintain a strong on-site presence and ensure rapid response to maintenance requests, work orders, and emergencies to minimize disruption for residents.

  • Develop and execute preventive and corrective maintenance programs tailored to high-occupancy, temporary housing environments.

  • Supervise the maintenance team and coordinate external vendors/contractors to deliver quality work safely and efficiently.

  • Monitor and maintain critical systems (power, water, wastewater, HVAC, fire/life safety) to support continuous operations and resident comfort.

  • Partner with site leadership, camp management, and safety to support smooth daily operations and resolve facility-related issues quickly.

  • Track work orders, maintenance costs, inventory, and performance metrics; provide clear reporting to leadership.

  • Enforce high standards of safety, cleanliness, and quality throughout the camp.

  • Support any remaining construction punch-list or turnover items as needed, while prioritizing operational readiness and resident experience.

  • Mentor and develop team members while fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Construction Management, or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and extensive hands-on experience will be considered.

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in facilities or maintenance management, preferably in workforce housing, temporary lodging, camps, multi-family residential, hospitality, or high-occupancy environments.

  • Strong working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and controls systems common to critical facilities.

  • Demonstrated experience managing teams, vendors, and maintenance programs in active construction or operational environments.

  • Proficiency with CMMS/work order systems, basic Microsoft Office/Excel, and the ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical manuals.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Commitment to safety excellence and ability to enforce rigorous standards.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional nights/weekends or on-call support.

  • Valid driver's license
