Surgical Associate - Surgery Department

Work location: Texas Health Southlake 1545 E Southlake Blvd, Southlake, TX 76092

Work hours: Full Time, 40 Hours a week. Days Monday through Friday 6:30am-3:00pm

Surgery Department highlights:

Here's What You Need

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent is required

  • Previous patient care experience is preferred

  • 2 years of PCA experience or 6 months surgical associate experience is strongly preferred

  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly is required

  • Read, write and speak English; Able to stand/walk for majority of hours of their work shift; Easily move heavy equipment & supplies (up to 250 lbs on wheels) without endangering themselves or others.

What You Will Do

  • Completes routine stocking chores:

  • Ensures two arm boards and safety strap available for case

  • Stocks and replaces suction liners

  • Assists in moving patients to and from the operating room suites.

  • Assists in room cleanup before and/or after surgery.

  • Follows directions of circulating nurse in obtaining equipment, instruments and supplies as requested.
