VOA Upstate New York Children's Center provides educational programs focused on early childhood development and school readiness. We support employees in pursuing their CDA. The center serves more than 200 children and families on an annual basis.
Classroom Aide - Daycare
JOB SUMMARY
As a Classroom Aide at VOA, you would help to provide for all aspects of care and education in a daycare classroom. Working as a team, Classroom Aides together with Lead and Assistant teachers ensure we are able to meet each child’s individual needs.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBIITIES

Assists in providing active, fully engaged supervision of the children at all times.

Provide coverage in any classroom as needed to maintain ratios.

Help to meet each child’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical needs.

Assist in maintaining classroom cleanliness and compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including state child care licensing regulations, accreditation standards and daycare standards.

Organize and Implement developmentally appropriate lessons and activities under the direction of the classroom teacher, reinforcing educational goals, attending to the individual needs of the children.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or GED, required

Minimum of one year of classroom experience with the applicable age range, preferred

OCFS process includes SEL, SCR, and DCJS fingerprinting

Knowledge of NYS OCFS regulations strongly desired
