Summary of Role

GlobalFoundries' Central Industrial Engineering (CIE) organization is seeking a motivated and analytical Industrial Engineer to join our global team. In this role, you will contribute to strategic initiatives that optimize factory performance across GF's worldwide manufacturing network.

As a member of the CIE team, you will support factory capacity planning, facility layout optimization, cycle time improvement, product ramp planning, capital investment analysis, and operational efficiency initiatives. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple global manufacturing sites to develop best practices, drive data-based decision making, and support long-term manufacturing growth strategies.

This position provides a unique opportunity to gain broad exposure to semiconductor manufacturing operations while developing technical, analytical, and project leadership skills in a global environment.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Support factory capacity planning and modeling activities to ensure efficient utilization of manufacturing resources.

  • Analyze factory performance and operational data to identify opportunities for productivity, efficiency, and cycle time improvements.

  • Develop and maintain factory layouts that support space optimization, operational efficiency, and long-term growth plans.

  • Partner with teams across global manufacturing sites to identify, standardize, and implement best practices.

  • Develop, track, and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting tools to support business objectives.

  • Support capital planning initiatives through data analysis and resource utilization assessments.

  • Manage and maintain data systems, models, and analytical tools used for industrial engineering decision-making.

Other Responsibilities

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner while supporting Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security (EHS&S) requirements and programs.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Systems Engineering, Operations Research, or a related field from an accredited institution, graduating in 2027.

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 with demonstrated academic achievement.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and present complex data.

  • Experience with data analysis and process improvement methodologies through coursework, projects, internships, or research.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous internship, co-op, research, or relevant industry experience.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience through academic projects, student organizations, competitions, volunteer activities, or workplace initiatives.

  • Experience with data visualization and reporting tools, including Microsoft Power BI.

  • Knowledge of capacity planning, operations analysis, simulation, lean manufacturing, or continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Strong project management, organizational, and prioritization skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and global team environments.

  • Self-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset and a passion for operational excellence.

Expected Salary Range

$58,400.00 - $100,800.00
