Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Executing the four Inspector General functions within the command based upon guidance from the Command Inspector General. 2) Providing leadership and oversight for all IG functions, including investigations, inspections, intelligence oversight, and assistance inquiries. 3) Managing administrative and resource responsibilities for the IG office, including budget formulation and execution, security management, information assurance, portal administration, and oversight of Department of Defense Person Search (DPS) accounts. 4) Overseeing the planning and execution of investigations and inquiries, including drafting directives, collecting and certifying evidence, and preparing detailed reports of findings and recommendations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Performs long range planning and analysis for IG inspections. Lead other inspectors in planning, coordinating, and writing the completion reports on all inspections. Advanced knowledge of all aspects of the IG investigative process and techniques used for factual conclusion of substantiated or not substantiated allegations or founded or not founded issues. Detailed understanding of internal organizational structure and administrative procedures and requirements. Ability to plan, organize and direct an investigation of any aspect of USAJFKSWCS.
