Title: Banquet Bartender

Location: Montgomery, TX

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Status: on-call.

Reports to: Banquet Manager

Pay Range: $5.50+tips

Job Summary: The Banquet Bartender is responsible for mixing, pouring, and serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages during events, following established guidelines. This role ensures guest satisfaction while maintaining compliance with legal regulations and minimizing liability.

Essential Functions and Duties :

  • Provide professional and courteous service to guests at all times .

  • Mix, pour, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages as required by the banquet event order.

  • Set up and stock bars in advance of all events with necessary beverages and supplies.

  • Inventory all beverage products before and after each event for cost reconciliation.

  • Secure all alcohol and equipment at the close of each event.

  • Serve alcoholic beverages responsibly, ensuring compliance with legal limits.

  • Collaborate with the Banquet Manager to control costs and maintain cost-to-sales ratios.

  • Work with security to ensure intoxicated guests are refused additional beverage service.

  • Attend department meetings and contribute to the overall success of banquet services.

Required Experience, Education, and Skills:

  • Previous experience as a bartender, preferably in a banquet or event setting.

  • Knowledge of mixing, garnishing, and serving drinks.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills .

  • Ability to handle cash and process payments accurately.

  • Familiarity with alcohol service regulations and TIPS certification (or must be obtained within 30 days of hire).

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing guest needs.

Work Environment :

  • Primarily an indoor role, with protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.

  • Frequent standing and walking for extended periods during events.

  • Requires lifting and carrying items up to 20 lbs. , with frequent handling of objects up to 10 lbs.

  • Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required .
