Telemetry Monitor Technician 📍 Oakbrook Terrace, IL 1901 S. Meyers Road Join Our Team and Play a Vital Role in Patient Care Advocate Health is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Telemetry Monitor Technician to support our clinical teams by monitoring patients' cardiac rhythms and ensuring timely communication of changes in patient status. This role is ideal for individuals interested in healthcare careers and offers valuable experience in a fast-paced hospital environment. No prior experience is required. We provide telemetry education and competency training to help you succeed in this role. Position Highlights ✅ Full-time, onsite position ✅ Three 12-hour shifts per week ✅ Day Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM ✅ Every third weekend rotation ✅ Rotating holiday schedule ✅ Comprehensive on-the-job telemetry training provided ✅ Great opportunity to start or grow a healthcare career What You'll Do As a Telemetry Monitor Technician, you will:

  • Continuously monitor cardiac telemetry systems for assigned patients.
  • Promptly notify nursing staff of any changes in a patient's heart rhythm.
  • Record and document patient heart rhythms on an hourly basis and whenever changes occur.
  • Run telemetry strips according to established policies and procedures.
  • Alert nursing staff when telemetry signals are interrupted or equipment requires attention.
  • Maintain daily inventory of telemetry transmitters and lead wires.
  • Handle confidential patient information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Collaborate closely with registered nurses and other members of the healthcare team to support quality patient care.

What We're Looking For Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to remain focused in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to successfully complete telemetry education and competency requirements within 6-12 weeks of hire.

Experience

  • No prior healthcare experience required.
  • Previous exposure to healthcare, customer service, monitoring, or clerical work is a plus but not required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, twist, and lift throughout the workday.
  • Functional hearing, vision, and communication abilities.
  • Ability to safely operate monitoring equipment and related technology.
  • Ability to work in an environment with potential exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards.
