At Pair Eyewear, we believe in placing our people at the center of everything we do. We are dedicated to fostering a joyful and dynamic workplace, providing our employees with an environment where they can thrive and make a meaningful impact.

Pair Eyewear is looking for a VP of Finance to help lead the company through its next phase of growth. This is a senior leadership role responsible for FP&A, Accounting, and Business Systems, and for bringing financial rigor and operating discipline to a fast-moving, high-growth consumer business. As a member of the company's leadership team, the VP of Finance will help set company-wide objectives, partner with functional leaders to build the operating plans that achieve them, and hold the organization accountable for delivering results.

This role reports directly to the CFO/COO and is a critical partner to the leadership team in translating strategy into an executable, measurable plan.

What You’ll Do:

Leadership & Company Strategy

  • Serve as a member of the company's leadership team, contributing to company-wide strategy and decision-making beyond the finance function

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to translate strategic objectives into concrete operating plans, budgets, and resourcing decisions

  • Hold leadership and their teams accountable for delivering against operating plans, surfacing risks and trade-offs early

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the CFO/COO and co-CEOs on financial and operational implications of major business decisions

  • Partner with co-CEOs, CFO/COO on fundraising, M&A and other strategic projects

FP&A

  • Own the company's financial planning and analysis function, including annual budgeting, monthly/quarterly forecasting, and long-range planning

  • Build and maintain financial models that support scenario planning, fundraising, and investment decisions

  • Deliver monthly and quarterly business reviews with clear, actionable insight into performance against plan

  • Partner with department leaders on headcount planning, capital allocation, and ROI analysis for key initiatives

Accounting

  • Oversee the Accounting function, ensuring accurate, timely monthly close, financial reporting, and compliance

  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure the integrity of the company's financial statements

  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners

  • Ensure the company is audit-ready and positioned to scale its accounting infrastructure as the business grows

Business Systems

  • Own the roadmap for finance and business systems (ERP, planning tools, reporting infrastructure), ensuring they scale with the business

  • Drive process improvement and automation to increase the speed and accuracy of financial data and reporting

  • Partner with Data/Engineering to ensure clean, reliable data flows between systems that inform financial and operational decisions

Who You Are:

  • A strategic finance executive who sees beyond the numbers and helps shape the long-term direction of the business

  • A trusted advisor to executive leadership, bringing sound judgment, thoughtful perspective, and a willingness to challenge assumptions in pursuit of the best outcome

  • An exceptional cross-functional leader who builds strong partnerships across the organization and influences decisions through data, credibility, and collaboration

  • A people-first leader who attracts, develops, and empowers high-performing teams while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement

  • An operator who can seamlessly shift between high-level strategy and hands-on execution, knowing when to zoom out and when to dive into the details

  • Someone who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments and is energized by solving complex business challenges with pragmatism and creativity

  • A systems thinker who continuously looks for opportunities to simplify processes, improve operational efficiency, and build scalable infrastructure

  • A clear and confident communicator who can distill complex financial concepts into actionable insights for stakeholders at every level of the organization

  • Someone with a strong sense of ownership, integrity, and accountability who leads with transparency and earns trust across the business

Need to Have:

  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including leadership of both FP&A and Accounting functions

  • Experience operating in a high-growth environment, ideally at a venture-backed or private equity-backed company

  • Demonstrated success leading finance organizations through periods of rapid growth and organizational change

  • Track record of partnering with executive leadership to set company objectives and translate strategy into operating plans

  • Proven ability to influence company strategy through financial analysis and business partnership

  • Experience presenting financial performance and strategic recommendations to executives, boards, and investors

  • Deep understanding of GAAP accounting and financial reporting

  • Experience implementing or scaling ERP and business systems (e.g., NetSuite, Adaptive Insights, or similar)

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to distill complex financial information for non-finance audiences

Nice to Have:

  • Consumer products and/or direct-to-consumer (DTC) experience

  • CPA and/or MBA

  • Experience supporting fundraising, M&A, or other strategic finance initiatives

  • Experience building finance infrastructure, systems, and processes that scale alongside a growing business

Some Benefits and Perks of Working at Pair:

  • Health, vision and dental insurance

  • Generous vacation policies

  • Competitive salaries with equity opportunities

  • Free eyewear (plus discounts for family and friends)

  • NYC dog friendly office with flexible hybrid work options
