Jovian Concepts, LLC is looking to hire a\x26nbsp;Network Engineer Level 3 for a great opportunity in the Annapolis Junction area.\x26nbsp; \x26nbsp;

Description:

Performs network services from network design through implementation, maintenance, and upgrading of existing networks. Analyzes design, specifications, and related documents. Performs general LAN/CAN/WAN administration. Schedules conversions and cutovers. Coordinates with all responsible users and sites to resolve network or system incidents. Translates business requirements into telecommunications (e.g., LAN, CAN, WAN, Voice and Video) requirements, designs and orders. Performs engineering analysis of telecommunications alternatives in support of strategic modernization efforts and telecommunications enhancement design for medium and large-scale telecommunication infrastructures. Assists telecommunications end users, telecommunications operations personnel, and telecommunications strategic program management with network interfaces.

The Level 3 Network Engineer shall possess the following capabilities:

\n

\n

• Optimize end-to-end system performance and data-flow management.

\n

• Conduct data captures to obtain network performance information.

\n

• Minimize network latency and maximize data throughput through design analysis and network performance monitoring tools.

\n

• Provide input to the design of the organization\x27s network and mission architecture.

\n

• Design solutions, integrate, configure, deploy, test and provide ongoing maintenance for numerous types of network devices, interfaces and methodologies.

\n

• Configure and optimize the network to connect various front-end and back-end components.

\n

• Gather needed data to specify system/component performance and interface requirements.

\n

• Implement specific network solutions to support server requirements to include load-balancing, VPN’s, firewall contexts, Traffic Shaping Voice over IP (VoIP), GRE Tunneling, IP Security (IPSec), IP Encryption, Media over IP (MoIP), and network address translation (NAT) where appropriate.

\n

• Configure and maintain the organization\x27s network diagrams and accreditations.

\n

• Oversee the support to all network equipment.

\n

• Develop designs of the organization\x27s network and mission architecture to meet new partner requirements.

\n

• Manage assigned tasks and provide guidance to junior Network Engineers.

\n

• Integrate hardware and software to satisfy ISO 9000 requirements and other DoD/IC regulations.

\n \n

\n Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

\n \n

\n

• Part of a team that will configure systems and then support in person or remotely the fielding\x27s of new gear

\n

• Additionally, you will be responsible for on going Networking support to include firewall and Crypto gear.

\n

• Utilizing JIRA for ticketing.

\n

• Lab environments working on new systems and upgrade configs.

\n

• Increased time will be spent helping design new systems and architect new environments as we move out of our current, dated monolithic systems to a container and possibly cloud environment where applicable for our customers.

Requirements

Required Skills:

\n

\n

• A current and active TS/SCI Clearance with a Polygraph from the MD Customer is required. No CCA\x27s will be accepted at this time .

\n

• The ideal candidate for this position must have significant Cisco and Arista Configuration and sustainment experience.

\n

• Familiar with Latte ‘Art and supporting STE/STN and SSP compliance for those devices.

\n

• Experience with Firewalls.

\n

• Required to travel occasionally/as needed to OCONUS locations and be on-call for Operational systems (once up to speed) \x26nbsp;

\n \n

\n Desired Skills:

\n \n

\n

• Call Manager experience

\n

• Cisco ASA Firewall Experience

\n

• Experience automating repetitive tasks, inventory collection, compliance requirements etc.

\n

• Experience working in the cloud or with Hyperconverged infrastructure and containerized environments

\n

• Familiar with Latte \x27Art and supporting STE/STN and SSP compliance for those devices

\n

\x26nbsp;

Qualifications:

\n

\n

• A\x26nbsp;Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security Systems Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university. Ten (10) years of relevant professional experience providing Network Engineering support and training\x26nbsp;commensurate\x26nbsp;with network engineering curriculum.\x26nbsp;\x26nbsp;

\n

• In lieu of a\x26nbsp;Master’s\x26nbsp;degree a\x26nbsp;Bachelor’s\x26nbsp;degree from an accredited college or university in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline and an\x26nbsp;additional\x26nbsp;two (2) years relevant professional experience providing Network Engineering support may be substituted for a total of 12 years.\x26nbsp;

\n

• In lieu of a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree and addition six (6) years of relevant experience providing Network Engineering support and a Certification in an industry standard (Arista Configuration Essentials, Cisco Certified Network Associate, or Juniper Certification Tracks (Automation \x26amp; DevOps, Cloud, Data Center, Design, Enterprise Routing and Switching, Junos Security, Service Provider Routing and Switching)) may be substituted for a total of 16 years.\x26nbsp;

\n

• Certifications: An Information Assurance Technical (IAT) level I baseline certification as defined by DoD 8570.01-M is required or ability to obtain within 6 months from start date.
