Full job description

JOB SUMMARY:

Using Expandable and panning tools, maintain proper inventory levels, and plan and coordinate replenishment as needed. Coordinate receipt, inspection, stocking of tooling. Pull and distribute tooling to the proper locations and kits. Utilizing Tool Layouts and BOM’s, pull kits for tool assemblies.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Competencies:

Maintain Planning levels for Tooling to ensure high availability for Production.

Establish Tooling requirements based on established reorder point levels driven by Production requirements.

Generate replenishment orders and work with Purchasing to place orders to Suppliers. Schedule orders to effectively manage Tooling spend. Follow up with Purchasing and Suppliers to ensure timely deliveries.

Receives, unpacks, and stores incoming tools and equipment, and requisitions stock to replenish inventory.

Proactively prepare, stage, and verify complete, production-ready kits for Production based on machine schedule. Confirm that kits align with Tool Layouts, BOM’s, and machine schedule.

Identify tooling gaps / risks and escalate proactively.

Re-evaluates returned kits to determine tools that are re-usable, need rework, or scrap. Coordinate the rework and scrap.

Restock kits with reworked, re-usable, and/or new tooling to ensure availability when needed.

Track tooling shortages, breakage, and abnormal usage. Capture feedback from Heading production and Toolmakers regarding tool performance. Support corrective actions with Engineering and Suppliers.

To ensure accurate inventory balances, maintain records of tools issued and returned.

Store tooling in designated areas and ensure that proper inventory levels are maintained.

Prepares periodic inventory or maintains perpetual inventory of tools and equipment.

Marks and identifies tools as needed to maintain clear identification.

Responsible for periodic Cycle Counts.

Update metrics and prepare reports for Management as needed. Escalate issues timely to Management.

Other duties as assigned by Manager.
