Job Duties
Tool Crib Attendant / Set Up
Responsibilities:
Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records of all tools, equipment, and supplies in the
tool crib. Perform regular inventory counts and update records as needed.
Tool Issuance and Return: Issue tools and equipment to manufacturing personnel as needed. Ensure
that all tools are returned and properly stored after use. If necessary, locate tools in the department to
verify condition.
Tool Maintenance: Inspect tools and equipment for wear and damage. Perform routine maintenance
and minor repairs as needed. Coordinate with the maintenance department for major repairs.
Order Supplies: Monitor inventory levels and order replacement tools, equipment, special tooling
required and supplies as needed to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of tool usage, maintenance activities, and inventory
transactions.
Safety Compliance: Ensure that all tools and equipment are used and stored in compliance with safety
regulations and company policies.
Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to manufacturing personnel by assisting them in
locating and obtaining the tools and equipment they need.
Organization: Keep the tool crib area clean, organized, labeling fixtures/vice jaws and keeping space
free of hazards.
Reporting: Generate and submit regular reports on tool crib activities, inventory levels, and
maintenance issues to the supervisor.
Setup Reduction: Gather and preset all tooling and sharpen tools if needed. Ensure all necessary
clamping or fixturing is available and in functional condition.
Inspection Preset: work with the inspection department to gather all necessary inspection equipment for
any job.
Perform any other duties or tasks as assigned or required.
Minimum Education Required
High School Diploma
Minimum Experience Required
Requires previous experience as a machine operator, as they will also perform machine set-ups
Should have knowledge of reading tools (gauges, calipers, micrometers, etc)
