KPMG is currently seeking an Associate, Cyber Operations to join our Enterprise Security Services organization.

Responsibilities:

Support cybersecurity operations activities focused on data protection, information governance, insider risk management, AI security, and the continuous improvement of security controls

Administer and enhance security technologies and control frameworks, including Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Information Protection (MIP), sensitivity labeling, data classification, data loss prevention (DLP), and related security capabilities

Perform advanced security analysis using Kusto Query Language (KQL), Advanced Hunting, and other reporting platforms to identify trends, investigate potential insider risk activity, analyze AI service usage, and support data-driven security decisions

Conduct security assessments and research of AI services, copilots, large language models (LLMs), and emerging technologies to identify data leakage risks, information protection gaps, insecure integrations, and other security concerns; recommend appropriate safeguards and controls

Leverage automation, reporting, and process improvements to strengthen preventive and detective security capabilities, improve operational maturity, and measure control effectiveness

Collaborate across technology and business teams, contribute to security initiatives and projects, develop operational metrics, dashboards, and documentation, and provide analytical support for cybersecurity investigations and response activities when required

Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment

Qualifications:

Minimum one year of recent cybersecurity experience supporting data protection and security technologies, including Data Loss Prevention (DLP), data classification, information protection, insider risk management, threat hunting, Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Information Protection (MIP), sensitivity labels, SIEM platforms, cloud security technologies, AI security, and other related cybersecurity or data protection solutions

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, or a related field is preferred; or a minimum of high school diploma or GED is required with at least two years of equivalent professional experience; relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft SC-200, Microsoft AZ-900, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK) are preferred

Experience creating and maintaining operational playbooks, procedures, technical documentation, reporting, dashboards, and security process documentation

Proven experience with KQL, Advanced Hunting, reporting and analytics platforms, scripting, automation, and analyzing trends associated with AI services, user activity, insider risk, and emerging technologies

Strong communication, collaboration, analytical, and problem-solving skills
