Job Description
A client of Insight Global is seeking a Senior Consultant with deep expertise in Red Hat OpenShift, GitOps methodologies, and Argo CD to support the design, implementation, and optimization of modern application delivery platforms. This individual will act as a technical leader and trusted advisor, working closely with platform engineering, DevOps, security, and application teams to build scalable, secure, and repeatable Kubernetes-based environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience deploying and managing OpenShift clusters, implementing GitOps workflows using Argo CD to enable declarative, version-controlled deployments, and establishing standardized CI/CD integrations with tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab, or Azure DevOps. This consultant will be responsible for defining best practices around multi-environment promotion strategies, repository structures, and deployment patterns using Helm, Kustomize, and Operators, while also ensuring alignment with enterprise security and compliance requirements through policies such as RBAC, secrets management, and policy-as-code frameworks. Strong experience with infrastructure automation tools like Ansible or Terraform, as well as Kubernetes administration fundamentals, is required. The role also includes mentoring client teams, creating technical documentation and runbooks, and driving adoption of GitOps practices across engineering organizations. Candidates with prior experience supporting federal clients or operating in highly regulated environments are strongly preferred, particularly those familiar with frameworks such as NIST, FedRAMP, or similar, and who can navigate security constraints while delivering modern cloud-native solutions.
