Full job description

Jacobs is seeking a Civil/ Traffic Engineering Intern to join our Transportation team working on projects that bring innovative solutions to our clients’ challenges locally and worldwide.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to join our team and be involved in a variety of engineering tasks for our DOT clients; aimed at improving traffic flow, safety, and infrastructure.

In this position you will work with a multidisciplinary team taking on a variety of tasks that blend your theoretical knowledge with practical application. Under the guidance of professional engineers, architects and other senior technical staff you will work on a variety of transportation and traffic engineering projects related to traffic operations, safety analysis, corridor studies, traffic simulation modeling, signal timing & operations, and traffic design (signals, signs, pavement markings, illumination, ITS, etc.). Work will be performed utilizing Big Data, with traffic engineering software including SYNCHRO, Highway Capacity Software (HCS), as well as AutoCAD Civil 3D.

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related degree

  • Knowledge of and experience using CADD/Design software (preferably AutoCAD Civil 3D)

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Previous experience design or transportation-related coursework

  • Authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship, now or in the future
