THE POSITION

Are you ready to guide nursing teams and strengthen the quality of resident care? The Registered Nurse Supervisor position with the Department of Human Services offers an opportunity to lead care practices that support the well-being of every resident at South Mountain Restoration Center. This role encourages leadership growth while helping create a safe and supportive environment for residents and staff.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position provides supervision, guidance, and daily oversight to nursing staff to ensure that resident care meets all standards of practice. The role emphasizes clear communication, strong clinical leadership, and ongoing improvement within a therapeutic environment. As a Registered Nurse Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:

  • Staff Leadership:Direct professional and nonprofessional nursing personnel in daily care activities

  • Care Oversight:Review resident treatment needs and act as an advocate for safe, effective care

  • Record Management:Maintain documentation, review assessments, and prepare required reports

  • Team Communication:Provide clear communication to residents, families, and staff members

  • Training Support:Offer education, orientation, and mentoring to nursing staff

  • Emergency Response:Address medical emergencies and monitor resident condition changes

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week

  • Work hours are 2nd shift (2:45 PM to 11:15 PM), rotatin g on-duty and off-duty days including weekends and holidays, with a 30-minute lunch.

  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years as a Registered Nurse (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);or

  • Four years of professional nursing experience providing care and treatment services consistent with those needed for individuals with a mental or physical injury or illness and/or a developmental disability.

Special Requirements:

  • You must possess active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.

  • All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
