2nd Shift Opening: Monday - Thursday, 4pm to 2:30am

Starting Pay Rate: $25.00 / hour PLUS $2 shift differential

General Summary: eneral Summary:

Provides safe, effective and efficient preventive and corrective maintenance to all Family Dollar Transportation equipment.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Performs all necessary repairs to all systems, sub-systems and components of company trailers.

  2. Performs preventive maintenance inspections on company yard trucks.

  3. Identifies warranty opportunities and works to maximize Family Dollar claims.

  4. Coaches/ Assists Class C Technicians.

  5. Performs periodic equipment inspections, inbound equipment inspections and PM follow up work.

  6. Assists in maintaining an accurate parts inventory system.

  7. Assists in performing other maintenance-related activities, as needed.

  8. Follows safety procedures and guidelines.

  9. Maintains an organized work area and promotes a safe working environment.

  10. Follows all Company policies and procedures.

  11. All other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience in heavy-duty commercial truck and trailer maintenance. Ideally, candidate will possess

some formal equipment maintenance training from a Technical School. Must have a roll around type tool chest and all hand tools to

perform assigned mechanic’s work. Basic computer knowledge is preferred.

Physical Requirements: Able to perform essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. These tasks

require the ability to frequently lift and move up to 60 pounds. The Team Member should have adequate fitness level to meet the

demands of frequent lifting, walking, standing, moderate climbing, occasional sitting, stooping and kneeling with or without reasonable

accommodation. Team Member will be required to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) per Transportation requirements.

Certifications: Must possess a valid driver’s license. Team Member will complete an annual violation and review record and provide

authorization for an annual MVR. Current Air Brakes Certification and experience, knowledge & skills to complete semi-annual/

periodic inspections are required.

Working Conditions: Team Member will work in a non-climate controlled atmosphere, in which outside weather conditions greatly

affect the building’s temperature although fans and heaters are used. Team Member may also be exposed to moving mechanical

parts or equipment, fumes and airborne particles as regulated by OSHA.

Availability: Team Member will perform shift work and must be willing to work overtime, weekends and/or holidays if needed.
