Job Description:

  • Monitors and supports compliance with departmental policies, radiation safety guidelines, ALARA principles, and regulatory/accreditation standards.

  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems.

  • Submits high-quality images and documents promptly, ensuring image quality, correct lead markers, and patient data/history.

  • Educates patients about the exam and complete all exams in a timely manner, maintaining workflow and minimizing empty table time.

  • Supports scheduling of personnel to provide adequate coverage during all hours of operation, using flexible staffing when appropriate.

  • Practicing infection control standards and using approved PPE and disinfectant agents.

  • Collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare providers to ensure appropriate imaging and continuity of patient care.

  • Ensures quality in imaging, patient care, and workflow.

  • Oversees quality control testing, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting.

  • Serves as a resource to department staff and other team members as needed.

  • Performs staff orientation, training, and coaching, and provides input for performance evaluations.

  • Promotes a positive patient experience by ensuring service excellence, effective communication, and the delivery of timely, high-quality care by the team.

  • Leads, organizes, and directs daily radiology department workflow of patients, technologists, and students.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

  • Associate [Preferred]

  • Bachelor's [Preferred]

Field of Study:

  • N/A

Work Experience:

  • 1+ years experience [Required]

  • 2+ years experience [Preferred]

  • Experience as a registered technologist or training in all complex exams/procedures such as fluoroscopy and OR image guidance. [Preferred]

  • Ability to train and coach new hires or radiology students. [Preferred]

  • Experience with scheduling, coordinating, inventory, protocol management, leadership, etc. [Preferred]
