About the Role
As a Full Stack Developer, you'll play a key role in designing, building, and scaling the technology powering Pine.
You'll work across the entire product stack - from customer-facing experiences to the backend systems that power our platform - helping deliver products used by thousands of Canadians.

What You'll Do
-
Design, build, test, and deploy high-quality full-stack applications
-
Develop modern, responsive user experiences using React and Next.js
-
Build scalable backend services and APIs using Kotlin
-
Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering to deliver exceptional customer experiences
-
Participate in technical architecture, planning, and system design discussions
-
Contribute to our shared component library and frontend architecture
-
Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code
-
Perform thoughtful code reviews and mentor teammates through constructive feedback
-
Troubleshoot production issues and continuously improve application performance and reliability
-
Help shape engineering best practices, tooling, and development workflows
-
Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity while maintaining high engineering standards

Explore opportunities to incorporate AI-powered capabilities into our products and internal platforms
What We're Looking For
-
Experience building modern web applications in a professional software engineering environment
-
Strong experience with React, Next.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript
-
Experience developing backend services with modern typed languages (Kotlin, Golang, C#, Java, Rust)
-
Solid understanding of API design, distributed systems, and scalable application architecture
-
Experience working with Git, pull requests, and modern CI/CD workflows
-
Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, responsive design, and frontend performance optimization
-
A passion for writing clean, maintainable, testable code
-
Experience with automated testing and quality assurance best practices
-
Strong problem-solving abilities and a continuous improvement mindset
-
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
-
Experience working in agile product teams and thriving in fast-paced startup environments

Experience working with AI coding assistants such as Cursor, Claude Code, or Codex in software development workflows
Bonus Points

Experience integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) or AI APIs into production applications

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS

Experience building fintech or other highly regulated software

Familiarity with observability, monitoring, and performance optimization tools
