OVERVIEW

Cadrex is searching for a Welder II to use Manual Welding skills to manufacture weldments to defined specifications, workmanship standards and production schedule.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and set up necessary tools and equipment for welding jobs
  • Arrange parts for welding and staging processes 
  • Perform quality inspection/checks per quality documentation/control plan (including documentation of results)
  • Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the Lead
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures
  • Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Write simple correspondence
  • Uphold site efficiency standards
  • Learn and demonstrate continuous improvement for Safety and Quality standards and procedures 
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Lead
  • Assist in other work areas as assigned
  • Understand welding symbols, print tolerances and quality measuring equipment
  • Work completely independently without supervision
  • Trouble shoot and resolve issues in assigned work center 
  • Produce quality work at company standard efficiency level for assigned work center
  • Cross trained in multiple workstations Requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1+ years in a metal manufacturing setting preferred 

  • Pass AWS certifications for MIG welding steel and aluminum

  • Possess a basic understanding of welding symbols, print tolerances and quality measuring equipment 

  • Meet or exceed company PPM level standards by consistently producing quality work

  • Obtain and maintain weld certifications in two or more welding processes specific to employee’s location

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

  • Ability to read and interpret prints and work orders 

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions EDUCATION

  • M-F; 7:00am - 5:30pm WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration.
