Job Description
MSS is seeking a passionate and dedicated PRN Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our team at our Skilled Nursing Facility in Yazoo City, MS. As a faith-based, non-profit organization, MSS is committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered care while making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.
The Physical Therapy Assistant works under the clinical supervision of the Physical Therapist to provide high-quality, individualized treatments that help patients improve mobility, strength, independence, and overall quality of life. The PTA also plays an important role as a member of the interdisciplinary team, collaborating with other healthcare professionals and providing valuable support and insight within the area of Physical Therapy.

Requirements
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of one (1) year rehabilitation experience in a setting serving the same age/type of patient population served by this facility. Prefer active membership in the state and national American Physical Therapy Association.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduate of an approved Physical Therapy Assistant program. Current license or eligible for license under statutes in the state of Mississippi. Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Adequate computer skills in order to complete required job duties and computerized documentation. Ability to understand and follow the directions of the Physical Therapist and the policies and procedures of Methodist Senior Services.
Physical Requirements
Ability to walk, bend, drive, stand, sit and reach constantly during an eight (8) hour day/shift. Ability to speak and hear to understand and give directions. Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to assess and monitor patient/resident needs, maintain accurate records, understand directions and recognize people. Fine and gross motor skills. Ability to push wheeled equipment throughout the facility and in the community. Work endurance ability to work eight (8) hour days/shifts. Ability to participate in sustained activity for up to three and one-half (3.5) hours at a time. Reading and comprehension skills for analyzing reports, charts and correspondence. Possesses highly developed communication and problem-solving skills.
Additional Information
Working Conditions: Typical therapy clinic environment. Requires ability to work occasional evenings and/or weekends. Strong organizational skills in order to effectively maintain multiple projects simultaneously. Requires creativity as well as the ability to work independently. Ability to be discreet and maintain confidential information.
