Full job description
Summary
Working out of TAEC’s San Jose Storage Design Center, the selected applicant will work as a member of an R&D team, on Hard Disk Drive related projects. The work environment is project and team based and involves developing leading edge storage technologies and products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Design, implement, debug, and evaluate various aspects of HDD-related projects.

Take ownership of large, moderately complex assignments.

Collaborate effectively with members within and outside the core project team.

Develop high-quality embedded firmware, participate in peer design reviews, and provide supporting design and evaluation documentation.

Analyze HDD performance across various workloads.

Communicate effectively and work closely with remote development teams.
Requirements:
-
5+ years of directly applicable engineering experience.

Strong fundamentals in relevant HDD technologies.
-
Proficiency in C/C++ and assembly language on ARM Cortex platforms.

Experience with embedded firmware development.

Experience analyzing and improving HDD performance.

Familiarity with SATA protocols.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Comfortable working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
Education:
- Bachelor’s in Engineering required; PhD preferred.
Salary Range: $114,300 - $160,000
