Full job description
Primary Responsibilities
- Supervise, instruct and coordinate the activities of Security Associates to maintain a safe and secure resort environment for guests and staff.
- Monitor and arrange shift activities according to schedule requirements and team availability, ensuring optimal coverage across all resort areas.
- Ensure all personnel are present and have assumed their duties. Continuously monitor and oversee security operations throughout the resort property.
- Maintain thorough familiarity with the entire resort property, including guest areas, back-of-house operations, amenities, and functions likely to require security attention.
- Serve as a principal source of information on security and parking procedures, providing guidance to both staff and guests as needed.
- Ensure compliance with established security rules, regulations, and resort policies.
- Communicate any matters affecting guest safety, resort interests, or operational security to Management immediately.
Guest Experience & People Management
- Provide effective support to the security team to enable them to deliver professional and courteous service while maintaining resort security standards.
- Respond to guest and staff inquiries by resolving security-related issues in a timely and efficient manner to ensure satisfaction and safety.
- Ensure that the team is trained on all safety provisions, emergency procedures, and guest interaction protocols.
- Motivate and develop the team to ensure smooth functioning of the security department, promote teamwork, and uphold resort hospitality standards.
Operational Management
- Keep the Safety & Security Manager informed of any noteworthy incidents, guest concerns, conditions, disciplinary matters, or information relevant to security department performance.
- Oversee the work of all security personnel and ensure that all resort areas, including guest zones and amenities, are being properly patrolled and monitored.
- Frequently check fire and security systems for proper operation. Troubleshoot security systems and retrieve necessary information as required.
- Operate and monitor control panels, alarms, CCTV systems, and related security equipment throughout the resort.
- Identify and report operational problems, initiate corrective action, and assist with diagnosis and resolution of security-related issues.
- Inspect various security posts and guest-facing areas to ensure compliance and readiness.
- Conduct security screening of employees as required for resort security purposes, ensuring all procedures are conducted with professionalism and respect (male employees screened by male security personnel; female employees screened by female security personnel only).
- Patrol assigned resort areas and check for suspicious occurrences. Enforce parking regulations and security protocols while maintaining a welcoming environment for guests.
- Provide work guidance, instruction, and orientation to Security Associates on resort-specific security procedures and guest service expectations.
Knowledge and Experience
- Minimum education requirement: Bachelor’s degree or diploma
- Certificates in National Skills Recognition System, CPR, First Aid Management and Basic Fire Fighting will be advantageous
- Minimum 2 - 3 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity
- Good reading, writing and oral proficiency in English language
- No criminal record
