Our client, a leading player in the metal manufacturing industry, is seeking an Automation Engineer to join their team. As an Automation Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering Department supporting process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a proactive mindset, and excellent communication abilities, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Automation Engineer

Location: Beaumont, Texas

Pay Range: $100,000 - $120,000

What's the Job?

  • Assist process engineers, supervisors, and plant management in optimizing electrical and automation systems for efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement new standards, structures, and equipment adjustments.

  • Coordinate improvement activities with relevant teams within the steelmaking process area.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by applying technical and engineering principles to maximize existing technologies and introduce new solutions.

  • Serve as a coach and trainer for production and maintenance employees, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

What's Needed?

  • A four-year college degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.

  • 5 or more years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment with exposure to advanced process and factory automation technologies.

  • Extensive knowledge of steel manufacturing methods, including heavy mill machinery, scrap processing, melting, casting, rolling, and finishing processes.

  • Experience with process standardization, quality methods, and supervisory or facilitation roles.

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills, with the ability to train and coach staff at all levels.
