Full job description

Job Summary:

Confirm correct patient, exam, and pregnancy status before imaging.
-
Ensure comfort, safety, and accurate anatomical alignment.
-
Operate radiologic equipment using ALARA principles to produce high‑quality images.
-
Safely prepare, explain, and monitor IV or oral contrast when required.
-
Assess vitals and watch for medication or contrast reactions.
-
Review images, complete QA, and transfer studies accurately to PACS.
-
Use shielding, control exposure areas, and follow all safety standards.
-
Prepare supplies and assist with specialized or sterile imaging exams.
-
Explain procedures, risks, benefits, and post‑exam instructions clearly.

Work with technologists, nurses, and providers to ensure smooth workflow and excellent patient experience.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: One to three years’ experience in radiology is preferred.
EDUCATION: Graduate from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology required.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY: Current license in the State of Montana as a Radiology Technologist and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or a temporary license in the State of Montana and AART registry eligible with ARRT guidance required. Permanent license and registration with ARRT will be required within 5 months of hire. Current BLS is required.
APTITUDES: Demonstrated ability to achieve cognitive, organization and emotional maturity to deal effectively with multiple tasks, stresses, deadlines, difficult situations and/or customers. Demonstrated ability for interpersonal/communication skills necessary for effective, non-judgmental, and empathetic patient care and customer relations. Demonstrated ability to receive feedback and ability to adapt to a changing environment, which requires flexibility in scheduling and department assignments.
