Preferred (not required): Food Manufacturing, Reading Blueprints, HVAC Systems, and Plumbing.

Shifts:
1st: 6:00 a.m.- 2:30 p.m. (Monday - Friday, every other Saturday)
2nd: 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. (Monday - Friday, every other Saturday)
3rd: 10:00 p.m.- 6:30 a.m. (Sunday - Thursday, every other Friday)

Position Overview:
This is a hands-on position and will require that the individual be willing to assist in the construction, service, repair or replacement of equipment and building systems. The technician must also ensure that all work is done in a safe, accurate, timely manner.
This individual will be responsible for contributing to a consistent, safe, and productive work environment through participation in corporate programs, and adhering to operational and personnel policies and procedures. With a focus on the success of the overall operation, the individual will work closely with the production and the quality teams to handle emergency repairs while coordinating and executing scheduled maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions
Contribute to an effective, predictive, and preventative maintenance program (including repair, modification, and installation of equipment) in order to improve production efficiency and ensure optimum machine time availability.
Regularly inspect plant facilities, production support systems and equipment in order to support effective plant operation.
Prepare (inspect, verify condition) all equipment prior to, and after, use to ensure smooth, sanitary and safe operation.
Monitor facilities and equipment for safety (food and teammate) issues and respond appropriately.
Maintain the facility and manufacturing equipment in a sanitary condition according to Company GMP policies and procedures in order to assure the quality of the manufactured product.
Contribute to the maintenance of a fully operational maintenance shop by communicating needs and keeping the area neat and organized.
Help develop SOPs for other maintenance team members and equipment operators.
Communicate effectively with maintenance team members from other shifts to ensure clarity and continuity.
Follow instructions as directed by the Maintenance Manager or other plant executives.
General Responsibilities
Promote all plant safety, GMP's and food safety policies and procedures
Actively participate in Food Safety and Food Defense related activities
Perform additional duties as directed.
Education & Experience
High school graduate or equivalent
1-2 year Technical Certification in maintenance mechanics, electricity, electronics, or related
3-5 years' experience in industrial maintenance is required.
Experience in a food production or bakery environment is a big plus.
Experience in building and facility maintenance including, but not limited to: reading and understanding blueprints, HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, hydraulics, and welding, painting, flooring and light carpentry.
Specific Competencies
Proficiency in equipment evaluation, installation, maintenance and repair.
Knowledge and understanding of heating and refrigeration principles.
Ability to identify problems and react appropriately.

Absences covered by other Maintenance Technicians as assigned by the Maintenance Manager or a designate of the Maintenance Manager
Physical Requirements/Environment:
Stand/Walking: Continuously (6-8 hours or more)
Grasp: Continuously (6-8 hours or more)
Pull/Push: Occasionally
Lift/Carry: Continuously/Frequently up to 50lbs.
Physical Environment: Continuously - work around moving machinery, working in a temperature controlled 75-degree environment.
