Description
Position Summary:The Relationship Associate is an experienced, customer-facing banking professional responsible for delivering exceptional service while accurately processing a wide range of financial transactions. This role performs advanced teller functions, supports operational needs, and may assist with specialized cash operations. As a primary point of contact, the Associate builds strong customer relationships, identifies needs, promotes appropriate Bank products and services, and ensures full compliance with all policies and regulations while upholding the Bank’s Core Values.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service & Relationship Building:

Provide prompt, professional, and friendly service at the teller line and drive-up.

Engage customers through active listening and meaningful conversations.

Respond to inquiries and resolve routine issues accurately and efficiently.

Identify opportunities to enhance the customer experience and strengthen relationships.

Support customer retention through consistent service and follow-through.
Transaction Processing & Accuracy:
-
Accurately process deposits, withdrawals, payments, check cashing, and other transactions in accordance with Bank procedures.

Balance and reconcile cash drawers daily while meeting accuracy standards.

Perform advanced teller functions, including issuing instant debit cards and temporary checks.

Maintain organized workspaces and accurate transaction records.
-
Adhere to all regulatory, policy, and security requirements.
Product Knowledge & Customer Support:

Maintain knowledge of Bank products, services, and digital tools.·

Communicate product features and benefits clearly to customers.
-
Identify customer needs and recommend solutions or refer to appropriate partners.

Support referral and service goals while maintaining a customer-first approach.
Operational & Branch Support:

Support daily branch operations by following established procedures.

Provide backup coverage across teller and branch functions as needed.

Participate in training, meetings, and professional development.

Demonstrate reliable attendance, punctuality, and teamwork.
Training Support:

Assist in onboarding and training new tellers.

Provide guidance on transactions, balancing, and service expectations.

Support problem-solving and customer interactions for new staff.
Community and Public Relations:
-
Participate in community organizations and events to enhance the Bank’s visibility and reputation.

Represent Kennebec Savings Bank professionally within the community.

Support branch-level engagement and relationship-building initiatives.
Other duties:

Actively participate in industry trade group meetings and educational programs to remain abreast of current issues and requirements affecting Bank operations and job performance.

Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality.

Work at other Bank branches as needed for customer service, operational, or training purposes.

Attend and participate in Bank meetings. Attend internal and external training to improve skills and knowledge relevant to the Relationship Associate position.

Perform other duties as required.

Education & Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required

Cash handling and customer service experience preferred

Familiarity with banking products and systems a plus

Basic computer proficiency (word processing, spreadsheets, banking systems)
Physical & Technical Requirements:

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to attend meetings, training, and daily work schedules

Ability to lift up to 20 pounds (cash boxes/bags)

Ability to handle currency and operate vault systems

Ability to stand or sit for extended periods

Comfort using computers and reading reports

Strong verbal communication skills, including phone interactions

Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail
Salary Range: Compensation for this position is based on knowledge, skills, experience, and demonstrated competency within the role.
Developing - Minimum:$21.00 hourly
Proficient - Midpoint:$23.88 hourly
Exceptional - Maximum:$26.76 hourly
