Special Education Teacher (EC Resource Teacher)
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher (EC Resource Teacher) to provide high-quality educational services to students with disabilities in an elementary school setting. Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, the Special Education Teacher will support students by delivering specialized instruction, providing academic interventions, and collaborating with general education staff to ensure student success.
The ideal candidate is committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment and actively participates in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualized student programs.
Key Responsibilities

Provide specialized instruction and academic support to students receiving special education services.

Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Collaborate with general education teachers, school staff, therapists, and families to support student achievement.

Adapt instructional materials and teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.

Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with federal, state, and local special education regulations.

Monitor student progress and communicate outcomes with stakeholders.

Participate in team meetings, consultations, and professional development activities.

Utilize required student documentation and reporting systems.

About the Resource Classroom
An EC Resource Classroom is a special education setting where students with disabilities receive targeted instruction and individualized support for part of the school day while participating in general education classrooms for the remainder of their instructional time.
Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university preferred.

Valid state teaching certification as required by state, contract, and district regulations.

Minimum one year of teaching experience preferred.

Standard Elementary Teaching Certification preferred.
-
Standard Secondary Teaching Certification preferred.
-
Standard Special Education Teaching Certification preferred.
-
Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) endorsement preferred.
-
Demonstrated knowledge of special education practices and compliance requirements.

Current CPR certification, if applicable.
-
Current health certificate, if required by state or contract regulations.
-
TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray, if applicable.
-
Must comply with all professional standards of practice.

Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.

Must be at least 18 years of age.
