ELIGIBLE FOR $2500 SIGN-ON BONUS

SECOND OR THIRD SHIFT POSITION

Voluntary Overtime Available

  • Receives instructions and prints regarding work assignment in shop

  • Performs work requiring knowledge of the welding properties of various types of metals, welding rods, welding heat, stress relief, allowances for fitup and machining, and effects of shrinkage, warpage and expansion.

  • Interprets drawings and sketches; plans details of working procedure; and decides on tools and materials needed.

  • Sets up, assembles, cleans and prepares items to be welded.

  • Performs welding in all positions. Makes any type and size of weld, including all types of pressure welding.

  • Preheats, post heats and flame anneals parts and welds.

  • Builds up worn or defective surfaces. Performs brazing.

  • Uses burning equipment to dismantle assemblies and to cut materials to size and shape.

  • Cleans and chips or grinds parts and welds.

  • Obtains parts, materials and supplies.

  • Cleans up material and debris after completing each job.

Requirements

  • Ability to interpret sketches and drawings, making necessary welds.

  • Use considerable judgment to determine proper welding practice and to regulate amperage output when electric welding, and regulate combustibles or oxygen-acetylene on gas welding, of ferrous and non ferrous metals.

  • Skill is using gas and electric welding equipment to apply brazing, hard surfaces or welding material in any position on metal where exact torch or electrode control is required.

  • Pay close attention to produce satisfactory welds and to meet various codes. Failure of weld could require repair or rewelding.

  • Ordinary care and attention required to properly set up guards or shields while welding to prevent serious injuries or burns to others.

  • Close mental and visual application required to interpret drawings, layout and plan work, set up and operate various welding equipment to meet requirements.

  • Moderate physical exertion required to manipulate welding torches, position materials, preparation for welding, finish work and working in various positions at ground level and overhead.

  • Work necessitates wearing of protective equipment.

Working Hours:

2nd shift - 3:30pm to 12:00am

3rd shift - 10:30pm to 7:00am
