Full job description

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our full time night Nurse Shift Manager, you will help lead and coordinate our exceptional nursing team so they can deliver timely and compassionate care to our patients.

Every day you will oversee patient flow, allocate resources efficiently, manage staffing assignments, and address any immediate clinical or operational challenges that arise. You will be expected to foster a collaborative and supportive work environment, mentor and supervise nursing staff, ensure adherence to protocols and safety standards, and act as a crucial point of contact for interdepartmental communication.

To be successful in this role, you will possess strong clinical expertise in medical surgical nursing, demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills, exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, and the capacity to remain calm and decisive under pressure.

  • Supervises nursing staff assigned to a particular shift.

  • Assigns patients to available nursing staff, taking into consideration the patient's condition and the employee's skill level

  • Assesses, monitors, and educates the nursing staff on patient care

  • Institutes emergency procedures as necessary

  • Anticipates staffing needs and moves proactively to respond to them.

  • Oversees stocking of supplies and updating patient records to ensure that the nursing floor is ready for subsequent shifts.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Minimum of two (2) years of clinical RN experience.

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (e.g., ADN).

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - American Heart Association

  • Current Bachelors in nursing (BSN) or related healthcare field preferred

  • Completion of Bachelors in nursing (BSN) or related field within three (3) years of hire

Pay Range

$80.07 - $107.23 /hour
