Job Description
A permanent, full-time position for a Respiratory Therapist, where the hired individual will be responsible for assessing, treating, and managing patients with respiratory conditions by administering oxygen therapy, operating mechanical ventilators, and performing various diagnostic pulmonary function tests, all under the supervision of a physician; requiring a current Respiratory Therapist license and certification.
Perm Placement: Respiratory Therapy
- Must Have Skills/Experience: RT on staff will be the backup for intubations – training will be provided onsite, the chosen RT will be the only RT on shift
- Preferred Skillset/Experience: None
- Type of Patients on Unit: primarily adults, ED patients, Surgical; rehab; imaging; heart & vascular; ortho; emergency
Qualifications
- Required Certifications: Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License required, BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification - American Heart 'Healthcare Provider
(HCP) - AHA approved required*, ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Certification or EKG & Pharmacology Course required National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required and VA License.
*New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to the completion of orientation
