Full job description
The Nursing Instructor will provide instruction for Nursing courses in an Associate's Degree and Practical Nursing Program. Aiken Technical College faculty provide instruction and academic advisement. Teaching assignments may include both on campus day and evening classes, online classes, or hybrid classes on campus or at clinical site locations. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach courses as assigned in accordance with established syllabi.
- Prepare, review and maintain courses and programs, syllabi, and instructional materials.
- Demonstrate appropriate course and classroom management.
- Provides academic guidance, assists students in developing personal, academic and professional plans, and engages in the College’s program recruitment, student retention, and graduation efforts.
- Participate in College activities and projects and promote the College through community service.
- Participate in activities that will develop the individual’s teaching performance, instructional development, knowledge of subject matter, and/or teaching or subject area qualifications in keeping with the College’s mission and institutional goals.
Master’s degree in Nursing required. Current South Carolina Multi-State (compact) license to practice as a registered nurse required. Three (3) years of recent registered nursing practice within the last five (5) years required. Two (2) years of clinical experience in Medical-Surgical is required. Knowledge of simulation-based learning methodologies, simulation technologies, and debriefing techniques, with the ability to incorporate simulation into nursing instruction and student learning experiences. Computer literate and excellent interpersonal, written, and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently, manage time, and organize multiple tasks, are essential.
